In our experience, young children love to cook, so every week, we join together to share in the joy of making good food. Cooking helps children to practise a range
of physical skills, particularly their hand-eye coordination as they mould and tear the ingredients and take on simple tasks such as stirring, spreading, washing vegetables etc. For the older
children, the cooking area is structured to promote independence as they learn to measure, weigh, peel and chop using the safety knives.
